This is me.

“I am brave, I am bruised,

I am who I'm meant to be, this is me.”

–The Greatest Showman

I recently had someone tell me that I’m an expert in the area of beauty. I remember thinking the moment I heard those words, “An expert? In what? Beauty? Hair care? Self Care?  I’m not even an expert in my own life!”

Don’t get me wrong. I’ve got experience, education and many life lessons, but I’m definitely not an expert. I’m a woman - just like you - who has lived through some good decisions and some bad decisions, some great joys and some great sorrows, and I’m still trying to figure out how to navigate this journey we call life.

When I think of an expert, I think of someone who has perfected something. An expert wants you to be exactly like them and do exactly what they do. And that’s definitely not me. I don’t want anyone to be exactly like me or do exactly what I would do.

I wouldn’t even call myself a coach, even though a coach wants to bring out the best in you, and a coach tends to apply pressure to achieve a certain outcome. Not my goal either.

If I had to label my blogging,  I guess I would have to call myself a cheerleader. I’m the voice on this sidelines of your life who reminds you that you can do it, that you have value and worth, that you will get to the other side of this, and that you’re going to be ok. I’m your raving fan.

I love the song “This is Me.”  It’s one of those empowering songs that make you want to stand a little bit taller, no matter what your circumstances are.  And that’s my hope for this blog – to share my journey and the lessons I’ve learned and to be a voice of encouragement while empowering you to become the best possible version of who you were created to be.

You are soul beautiful.
